Is it appropriate to send a card and Starbucks gift card to your coworker in this situation?

I worked with her in the past and she was awesome, and then she recommended me for the job that i have now, and she trained me and helped me out A LOT this time around. but she’s quitting because she is going back to school. i was thinking of sending a card by mail to her home thanking her and also including a starbucks gift card since she has a starbucks obsession lol. do you think this is appropriate? and how much should the gift card be??
