Why are major store chains allowed to refuse to honor gift cards when they are in trouble?
A major US retail chain is now refusing to honor gift cards when customers try to buy something in their stores. It’s not like the customer is getting something for “free”, the store already has the money of the person that bought the gift card. So why are they allowed to rip customers off like this?
Can you use gift cards to pay for gift cards?
I have a $500 gift card from Walmart. I don’t need to buy anything. Figured I’ll just buy 5 $100 walmart gift cards and give it as gifts. Do stores allow you to use gift cards to buy gift cards?

I received a Bloomingdale’s gift card, but am not a big Bloomingdale’s shopper. Is it affiliated with any other stores?

Is going store to store asking for gift card donations/ merchandise for my March for Babies family team okay?
This is an extremely important cause for me. I wanted to create a little money raising competition by getting prizes for the walker that earns the most money. I have spent a pretty penny arranging other fund-raising benefits. Would it be okay to ask stores if they would support our team by donating a gift card or store item. Maybe we can put in a good word for the business and market them as well. Any ideas? Any stores that come to mind?
