How can I pay for a nano game on itunes with an itunes gift card?

i’m trying to buy cake mania 3 for click wheel ipods and when i go to the pay options i click “redeem itunes gift card” and it says it’s been added to my account. then i go back and try to pay for it but it won’t work…
the only options are american express, mastercard, or visa. or none. but whenever i click none it doesn’t do anything. help?
NONE: it didn’t work.

    You’ve already redeemed the card so you don’t need to change your payment method. Purchases are always charged to the store balance first. Just go to the game and click Buy. NONE

    open itunes and at the top right hand side click redeem Freckles…
