Dayman asked:

I got one of the ideal gift visa gift cards on Christmas as a gift with $100 on it. I activated it and now I’de like to use it to make an online purchase on the Best Buy website. First of all, should I enter the visa gc as a regular credit card? And what if the item is MORE than $100, I already have a backup credit card in place, will it just remove the difference automatically?

not online there is no way to make a split transaction
but if go to a best buy ; you can do that in the store though (whats called a split transaction)
and if do use it online its consider a credit card travelmaster

Well first make sure you activate your gift card on the website it has printed on the back of the giftcard package. Then you can go about spending it in anyway you like. Pretty sure you enter it was a regular credit card (I did this on Amazon.com) If the item is more than $100, then the second credit card should be used to pay the difference. (I’m not sure if it will do it automatically, but I think it can figure it out by itself.) shadownater
