If i use an old navy gift card & my debit card to make a purchase then make return will it go back to debit?

I am lord voldermort asked:

If i use an old navy gift card & my debit card to make a purchase (ex I spend $50.00 gist card is worth $40.00 pay $10.00 on debit card) then make return of everything will old navy put it back on debit card? Or will they just give me store credit/gift card? Is there any way to get cash out of my gift cards without selling them on criagslist?

    Nope those days are over they have on record how you paid and will give you store credit. Best bet is to sell it cheaper than whats on it. agonynation

    Nope. Refunds are always in the original form of payment. The register knows to split your refund in the same way you paid for it. The only way to get cash back is to pay with cash. Debit is a cash equivalent, so you’ll get your $10 back in cash (or back to your debit card), and the rest will go back to a gift card.

    You can redeem the Old Navy gift card at Gap and Banana Republic and online at the Gap Inc brand websites, so if you dont like Old Navy, try finding something you like at another Gap Inc. brand. DanielleD
