What are some creative ways to wrap a gift card for a child?

I’m giving my niece and nephew gift cards for Christmas. However, I think the gift card should at least have some interesting enclosure (in case they don’t get a choice in how to spend it–like if they need new jackets or something). What would be some good ideas? They are 11 and 4.

    find a small box that fits the card in perfectly and wrap it, then get a slightly larger one and wrap that one. get another one and do the same, getting larger and larger everytime. make it like 5 or 6 boxes! that will be really funny, and cute to watch their faces to keep having to open another and another! b.

    I was going to tell you to use a roll of duct tape on each, but htat would suck at their age, I would enjoy it though. :)
    Find some kind of age and gender appropriate box or container and place the card inside…ex: Jewelery box for the girl…something related to cars for the boy…good luck and Happy Holidays! Firm_Cross

    For girls, Target has these cute Christmas socks with pockets on the side to stick in a gift card! I got those for my nieces, and sticking old navy gift cards in the pockets. Becky

    you could enclose it in a jar with cookies, fudge, or brownies. or for less of a mess you could put the baked goods in the jar and then put the card on top of the jar with a bow, etc.

    I would enclose it with some small present, so they feel like they’ve gotten something, regardless of what use the card is put to. The four-year-old, especially, won’t understand the concept of gift cards, as far as I can figure. I would enclose it with something like a toy truck, or an action figure, for a boy, and maybe some doll accessories for a girl. For the eleven-year-old, I would try to do the same thing, but something like a pretty or interesting little box would probably be more acceptable to a kid of that age. Jackie

    When I was five-ish, my grandmother sent me a little tote bag with a bunch of pockets; there was a fiver in one of the pockets, and I thought it incredibly cool. The whole thing, I mean; not just the $5.

    So: I’d stuff it in the pocket of something. Just an otherwise plain pocket t-shirt would do; there’d be a “Oh — auntie sent me a _t-shirt_… Big de — OH! LOOK!” The four-year-old might prefer it tucked into a little box of some sort of toy; there’re some little Lego sets that don’t cost much. Best to have something to look at/do on Xmas, I say.

    For the 11-yr-old: slip it in a deck of playing cards? You’d have to arrange with somebody to coax a game with said cards pretty quickly, but.

    At either age, I would’ve liked it as a bookmark in a book I wanted, too. kmennie
